The Vertical Boring section consists of 2 machines with a table size up to 1.6 metres and a maximum swing of 1.8 metres. Maximum height for vertical machining under the ram is 1.65 metres. Maximum table load is 5 tonnes.
These machines are fully controlled for vertical boring to enable high metal removal rates and complex component vertical machining. An extensive range of modern tooling is available for both vertical CNC machines to utilise the ample power available. The O-M machines are fitted with a 12 station toolchanger and the Giddings & Lewis machine with a 5 station turret.
