CTL Recover gearboxes for railway industry

CTL have convinced a major supplier to the railway industry that using our in house plating facility we are able to repair bearing diameters, and put back into service the gearbox off the diesel engine main drive.

Because the assembly is a split gearbox,  bushing or sleeving the damaged bores is not an option and bath plating too expensive.

CTL have the ability to CMM Inspect to determin the errors in the gearbox bearing diameters.Then using our CNC machining expertise, bore oversize the out of limit areas  then using Sifco Plating bring bores back to size.

Followed a final inspection back on the CMM to confirm recovered area is back within drawing tolerance.

Historically the gearboxes would end up scrap and disposed of, so there is a huge cost saving for our customer.
